The table shows the electricity prices charged to households in various countries around the world for Q4 2017 . There are two sets of numbers in local currency and in USD. Note the following:
- The average price of electricity for households in the thirty seven countries that we track was 0.195 USD per kWh.
- The lowest rates were in the Russian Federation with prices of only 0.065 USD per kWh while the highest rates were in Denmark with prices of 0.376 USD per kWh.
- Electricity prices per kWh in the top five economies by GDP were as follows: 0.130 USD in the U.S., 0.08 USD in China, 0.221 USD in Japan, 0.366 USD in Germany, and 0.224 USD in the UK.
